How to Identify Your Vehicle’s AC Refrigerant

Check the label under the bonnet near the AC service ports. UK vehicles using R134a will typically show a blue low-pressure service port with “R134a” labelled on the system. A yellow label indicates a vehicle that uses R134a with PAG oil.

Never assume the refrigerant type from vehicle age alone — some fleet or specialist vehicles may have been modified. Always verify.
