Buying R32 in the UK
R32 is now the most important refrigerant for UK HVAC engineers to source reliably. As the standard gas for new heat pumps, split AC and multi-split systems, demand continues to grow year on year.
Why R32 Supply Is More Stable Than R410A
R32 (GWP 675) uses F-Gas quota at approximately one-third the rate of R410A (GWP 2088) per kilogram. This means supply constraints from the phase-down are less severe for R32, making it the more future-proof choice for engineers stocking their vans.
Standard UK Cylinder: 9 kg
The R32 9 kg cylinder is the UK trade standard, covering most domestic heat pump charges (0.8–2.5 kg) with gas remaining for top-ups. Light commercial split AC charges of 1.5–4 kg are also covered.
