What does A2L mean?
Refrigerants are classified by toxicity and flammability. The letter ‘A’ means lower toxicity; the number ‘2L’ means lower flammability with a low burning velocity. A2L refrigerants are far less flammable than the A3 hydrocarbons (like R290), but they are not non-flammable like the older A1 gases.
